Dodge’s flagship sports car gives customers what they know and love while improving on last years weight, power and aerodynamics. The 2014 Viper SRT is easily recognizable as a Viper but has a more modern streamline, smooth, stretched metal look. The front of the car appears longer due to its modern stretched look and back of the car has been made smoother, more subtle, and more aerodynamic than the 2013 model. Overall the Viper lost 25lbs since last year, which should make for tighter cornering and better acceleration. It weighs much more than it looks coming in at a husky 3354 pounds. If you own a 2014 Viper consider yourself lucky to own a drag racers dream.

The 2014 Dodge Viper SRT has a 640hp V10 engine that puts out 600 lb-ft of torque, more torque than any other mass produced naturally aspirated car in the world. It gets about 22 mpg on the highway, which is actually impressive considering the power of the engine. New on the 2014 are steering wheel mounted controls that allow the driver to turn traction and stability control systems on and off as well as a launch control button that can boost acceleration from a dead stop. The 2014 basic SRT models have a top speed of 206 mph, go 0-60 in the low 3’s and easily run a sub 12-second quarter mile.

The interior has also been vastly improved since 2013. The 2014 Viper SRT now has a more luxurious and comfortable interior. Dodge has done this without losing focus on creating a driver-first experience that is designed to allow the driver to get the most performance out of the car with the least amount of effort. It also features an 8.4-inch touch screen that can connect to 3G services and turns the car into a mobile WI-FI hotspot. The logos throughout the car have also been changed and the previous design’s  7-year run is over. The 2014 Viper SRT is available now at Chapman Dodge Scottsdale.
