Heavy duty towing capability and engine performance are what separates the 2015 Ram 2500 and 2015 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty Trucks from other vehicles. With best in class power, towing capacity, and payload capacity both Ram trucks are ready to take on any weight attached to them.  A close relationship with Cummins has been crucial when designing an engine for these trucks that maintains both performance and EPA compliance.

Each truck comes with a standard 5.7 liter HEMI V-8 engine that provides 383hp at 5,600rpm with 400 lb.-ft. of torque.  A 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel engine is available for both models and comes in three versions, each featuring different horsepower and torque combinations. The Ram 3500 can tow up to 30,000 lbs. and carry a payload of 4,580 lbs. while the Ram 2500 can tow a best in class 17,440 lbs. and carry up to 3,510 lbs. in the bed.

The suspension package differs between the two models. The Ram 3500 has a three link front suspension developed to cushion the ride when carrying a larger payload.  In addition, the rear suspension features separate auxiliary levels to help support handling when there is an increased payload.  The Ram 2500 rear end features a five link coil suspension to reduce friction during heavy duty towing. The improved turning ability ride comfort has contributed to this vehicle’s best in class rating.  Both trucks have available rear air suspensions that changes height with the push of a button, great for the driver towing on various terrains.

The 2015 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 come with a variety of additional features aimed to increase performance potential beyond the standard. Heavy duty hooks and trailer harness connectors offer solid and secure towing, increasing safety on an incline or when weight shifts.  The available upfitter interface module is a must for those towing on the job. The system allows simple and seamless connectivity to external features such as tow lights or plows for easy control inside the cabin. The Ram 3500 also offers an active air intake system exclusive to only the 3500 model.

Interior design differs depending on the trim level; both trucks offer SLT, Laramie, and Big Horn packages. All come with a largest in class touchscreen control center and available UConnect voice command and WiFi hotspot.  With the available cargo-view camera, the contents of the bed can be easily seen. Other safety and comfort features are available to fit any driver’s needs.
