Explore Arizona in Your 4-Wheeler

There are so many outstanding places to see in Arizona that it is impossible to describe them all in a short article. That’s why if you have a Jeep Wrangler or other 4-wheel drive vehicle, it makes sense to join a 4-wheeler club. You not only benefit from the expertise of the other drivers, but it’s a great way to make friends and develop a sense of community. All 4-wheeling clubs welcome new drivers with open arms and are willing to share the knowledge they’ve gained over decades of exploring Arizona’s back country. It’s time to kick that Wrangler into 4-wheel low and see how a great off-road vehicle performs.

Arizona State Association of 4-wheel Drive Clubs

For a comprehensive list of clubs in the state, head to There you can find links to clubs that meet near your home, as well as general information on events and 4-wheeling in the state. The ASA4WDC was incorporated in 1965 to not only give a voice to 4-wheelers, but to also encourage drivers to be responsible when out on public lands. The association offers programs geared toward conservation, education, safety, public service and fellowship. The club welcomes all into its membership, even if you don’t have a 4-wheel drive. If you join and decide this is something you’d like to pursue, check out the huge inventory of Wranglers at Chapman Chrysler Jeep.

Copperstate 4-wheelers

With more than 40 years of experience of responsible 4-wheeling in the desert and surrounding area, the Copperstate 4-wheelers provide an excellent way for novice drivers to learn the lay of the land. This non-profit group has at least one trail ride each month, emphasizing safety while respecting the land. They leave nothing on the trail except some monster tire tracks. Visit for more information on joining and what the club is about.

Be Prepared for Arizona Pinstriping

Although Chapman Chrysler Jeep has a wide variety of new 4-wheel drive vehicles perfect for off-roading, remember that Arizona pin striping is a welcome part of all off-road trips. For the uninitiated, that is the result of going through narrow passages and having your vehicle scratched by bushes and small trees. Check out the inventory of certified pre-owned Jeeps. You’ll get the benefit of a warranty without worrying quite as much about the paint job.

Limited Editions of 1500 Sport Pickup

Whether you’re a huge fan of Halloween or just like the colors orange and black, you should be enthused at two new limited editions of the Dodge Ram 1500 Sport Pickup. The Ram 1500 Ignition Orange Sport and Black Sport trucks will bring the exterior color inside, with full color accent stitching on the seats and trim, color accent mesh for seat inserts and accent color on the headrests. These eye-catching trucks are in a small production run of only 1,000 each, so hurry in to Chapman Dodge and take advantage of this opportunity to set yourself apart from the crowd.

Comes Standard With HEMI

The 1500 Sport comes standard with a 5.7-liter HEMI engine that delivers 395 horsepower and 410 foot-pounds of torque. Fuel saver technology shuts down half the cylinders when cruising out on the open road to help reach 22 miles per gallon on the highway. Dodge is the only truck to offer a diesel option in a half-ton pickup. The 3.0-liter ecodiesel produces 240 horsepower, but 10 more foot-pounds of torque than the HEMI. Where the diesel shines is in fuel efficiency, averaging 29 miles per gallon on the highway and 21 mpg in the city, by far the best in its class.

Air Suspension Keeps Load Level

Four-corner air suspension keeps loads level automatically and provides the driver the ability to raise or lower the vehicle as the situation demands. Sensors lower the truck when it’s out on the highway, reducing drag and upping gas mileage. The driver controls the air bags through the touch of a button conveniently located on the dash. The air suspension provides a soft ride while reducing body roll through corners.

Tow What You Want

With a 10,350 pound towing capacity, the 1500 Sport Pickup has the ability to pull just about any load through a mountain pass without a significant decrease in power. This HEMI has the power to justify using the truck as a work vehicle during the week, then haul the boat to the lake on the weekend. Utilizing the HEMI, the truck reaches 0-60 in just 5.4 seconds, a time that would make many sports car owners envious. It also hits 99 miles per hour in the quarter mile, achieving an elapsed time of 14.1 seconds. Visit Chapman Dodge to inspect the entire line of Ram trucks and find the one that’s perfect for you.
