Diesel and Fuel-saver V8 Tops in Efficiency

When looking for a new truck or van for your business fleet, head over to Chapman Dodge and take a look at the commercial Ram inventory. Ram trucks and vans are built tough to handle the hardest jobs. The availability of diesel and gas-saver V8 engines help increase your bottom line with fuel savings. The Dodge 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine has earned an EPA estimate of 29 mpg on the highway when paired with the Torqueflite 8-speed automatic transmission. That’s the best fuel economy of any full-size pickup truck on the market. Ram Heavy Duty trucks have a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine available that has a fuel saving technology which shuts down cylinders when going down long hills or cruising across long flat stretches. A 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel engine is also available, offering plenty of torque to go along with fuel efficiency.

Promaster City Van Combines Power and Mileage

The Ram Promaster City van is the perfect option for business that offer services or haul small cargo around the city. With a 2.4L Tigershark Multiair engine, the Promaster City van gets 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. With high vertical walls and a flat floor, it’s easy to build out the interior of the van to suit your business needs. Tradesman models have a best-in-class cargo capacity of 131.7 cubic feet, including a width of 48.4 inches between wheel wells. That means you can carry full sheets of plywood or drywall easily on the floor. The driving area is intelligently designed with a large windshield, tilt steering wheel and controls all ergonomically placed within the driver’s reach.

Ram Chassis Cab Offers Dual Fuel Tanks

Choose the Ram Chassis Cab and you can have the back end built for cargo or flatbed hauling. The dual gas tanks hold 74 gallons of gas, meaning your drivers will spend more time on the road and less time at the truck stop. A crew cab configuration is available, allowing you to haul up to six adults comfortably to a job site without having to involve an extra vehicle. Outfit the Ram 4500 or 5500 Chassis Cab with the 6.7L Diesel and you have best-in-class payload and towing capability. Dual alternators provide 440 amps of power for any upfitting or accessories you may add to your truck. Go over to Chapman Dodge, inspect the commercial Ram inventory, and talk to the fleet department to ensure you get the right truck for your business needs.

Dodge Getting Ready to Release the Beast

With its big, beefy stance, oversize tires and overall macho appearance, the name “Power Wagon” perfectly describes the truck that was built to go off-road. Perfect for a work truck or for play, the Power Wagon is built on the Ram 2500 HD crew cab with plenty of seating for five adults. Special graphics leave no uncertainty what this truck is about, as it is adorned with large Ram and Power Wagon decals on the tailgate and rear side fenders. The massive front bumper protects a 12,000-pound Warn winch that’s designed to get you and your friends out of sticky situations. The 2017 Power Wagon will be making its way to Chapman Dodge later this fall.

Rear Axle Upgrade Coming for 2017

If you’re considering buying a Power Wagon, chances are you’ll appreciate the upgrade of an 11.5-inch ring gear in the rear axle. The more powerful gear requires a larger shaft. The front axle has a 9.3-inch gear with electronic locking apparatus for both front and back. The Power Wagon follows the technology of other Ram trucks, disconnecting the front axle when you’re not in four-wheel drive to offer greater fuel efficiency.

Big Hemi Provides Root Pulling Power

A big truck requires a big engine to be able to do the work required. Dodge provides power in spades with a 6.4L V8 Hemi that generates 410 horses and a stump tugging 429 pound feet of torque. The Power Wagon comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission that works with a BorgWarner manual transfer case to deliver powerful crawling action when shifted into four-wheel drive low. Hill descent allows you to come down a steep incline without losing control or over-taxing the brakes. Skid plates protect both the transfer case and fuel tank from those unseen or unavoidable obstacles like large rocks and tree trunks.

Power Wagon Opens Up Recreation Areas

“The Ram Power Wagon is an off-road, all access pass, removing the limitations, instilling confidence and allowing owners to reach areas of recreation and lifestyle not attainable with any other pickup,” according to Ram Brand chief Mike Manley. “The 2017 Ram Power Wagon delivers to those who travel into extreme terrain, while providing the towing and payload capability required in a heavy-duty truck.”

The Power Wagon was initially manufactured from 1945 through 1980, with many of those trucks finding their way into classic collections. Stop by Chapman Dodge later this year to see the new Power Wagon and see why it’s been such a desirable truck for so many years.
