You can imagine the engineers at Dodge sitting around the break room one day, celebrating the release of the 707 horsepower Hellcat Challenger when the word came from above: “We Want More.” More horsepower, more performance, quicker times and a name that signifies this is indeed the beast of all beasts. Enter the Dodge Challenger Demon, boss of the Hellcat and every other production machine that dares to call itself a race car.

The Demon starts with the same basic Supercharged 6.2L HEMI engine as the Hellcat, but that’s where the differences start to mount. The Demon, which will be available through Chapman Dodge, has 25 major component upgrades from the Hellcat, including a new fuel injection system and strengthened rods and pistons to handle the increased horsepower. Where the Hellcat once ruled the horsepower world with an amazing 707 horses, the new Demon offers a somewhat unbelievable 840 horsepower. It is simply the most powerful production car ever offered in the United States.

With a functional Air-Grabber hood scoop that’s also the largest of any production car, the Dodge Demon has an air-flow of 1,150 cubic feet per minute, almost 20 percent greater than the Hellcat. Providing enough fuel to utilize all that oxygen was a challenge, which is why the Demon has two dual-stage fuel pumps vs. one for the Hellcat. By utilizing a power liquid-to-air chiller system, the Demon stays cool while achieving an incredible run of 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds.

If going vertical is one of your goals in life, you’ll be delighted to know that the Dodge Challenger Demon is also the first production car to be able to pull off a wheelie. Utilizing special drag radial tires that double the traction of traditional tires, when you fire up that monster engine and tromp on the gas, be prepared to see plenty of sky. Drag mode launch assist helps eliminate “tire stick” even when the conditions are not the best.

If you’re a fan of those Wednesday night “run what you brung” at the local race track, the new Demon will ensure you crush all comers. With a certified time of 9.65 seconds and top speed of 140.09 miles per hour, the Demon is also the world’s fasted production car in the quarter mile. There are also plenty of accessories, including a floor jack with a Demon logo and cordless impact wrench with the Dodge colors, that will help you stand out in the pits. The Demon is offered in a limited production run, so make sure you check in with the pros at Chapman Dodge now to see how you can get your hands on the real ultimate driving machine.

New Powertrain Only Part of Upgrade

Now that the new Jeep Compass is ready for a test drive at Chapman Jeep, it might take you some time to appreciate all the upgrades from the previous model. The 2017 Compass is new from the ground up, with a new transmission, new engine and revamped all-wheel drive system that is ready to take on Arizona’s back country. With new safety and infotainment features, the 2017 Jeep Compass replaces the outgoing model as well as the Jeep Patriot. The new Compass comes outfitted with the popular Tigershark 2.4L four-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower, plenty to propel this little beast. The all-wheel drive models come with a 9-speed automatic transmission that earns an EPA rating of 31 mpg on the highway. Front-wheel drive models are outfitted with 6-speed automatic transmission.

Motor Trend Likes Driveability

Although the Compass is made Jeep-tough to handle off-road trails, Motor Trend magazine liked the driveability of the little Jeep on the highway. “A fair amount of engineering effort went into ensuring the Compass is enjoyable to drive on the road,” they wrote. “The crossover was able to take corners very well while providing a comfortable ride and maintaining a good steering feel.” Car and Driver magazine says the new Jeep Compass is “more handsome and better proportioned” than the old model, comparing it favorably to the stylish Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Choose From Two All-wheel Drive Systems

Jeep engineered the new Compass to be the most dominating compact SUV in its category, offering two-different all-wheel drive systems from which to choose. Most people will be satisfied with the Jeep Active Drive system, which helps maintain control over most trails and while driving in ice and snow. Choose the Jeep Compass Trailhawk and you’ll receive Active Drive Low, which has a lower gear ratio to help power through those off-road moments where other vehicles might turn back. Increased ground clearance, skid plates and well-engineered approach and departure angles help you avoid getting hung up on nature’s obstacles.

Adventuresome Doesn’t Mean Uncomfortable

Take one look at the new Jeep Compass interior when you visit Chapman Jeep and you’ll be intrigued by the sculpted cabin that invites you to come in and sit awhile. With well-bolstered, cushy seats that help hold you in place when the going gets rough to the thoughtfully-placed controls that are within easy reach, the Jeep design team went the extra mile to make sure the new Compass is as comfortable as it is capable.
